Well, seems like my 'old' horse proves he's 28 going on 3!!!
Riding out with Jimbo can be more exciting than riding out on a fresh, young Thoroughbred. He's completely obsessed with the idea that the bush monster is going to jump out and eat him, and that the lonely hay bale in the middle of a farmer's field is secretly a lion in disguise.
To look at him, grazing in the field, you'd think he was an old plod, being a Cob and all. To handle, he is the perfect sweetie, doing everything you ask, with apple in sight of course!
If I were to make a list of the things he were to turn-tail-and-run at, it would be endless. But here's a few anyway:

*Electric fencing - I got trampled in the process of leading him out of the field using this!
*Black Sheep - they secretly make pony-sandwiches for tea.
*Miniature ponies - not really ponies apparently.
*Lonely things in the middle of a field (eg hay bales, a single car/person/tree/cow - strange I know.
*Leaves - these are soooo scary when they fall off the trees.
*Geese
Yet on the other hand, these are the things he tolerates that most other horses wouldn't!
*Double decker buses going at 40mph past him - within 5 inches of his tail. And any other traffic for that matter. He just doesn't care.
*Hedge-cutters - he was too bothered about the hay bale to care about this.
*Rubbish - for example, plastic bags blowing in the air.
*Dustbins, and other horse-eating objects.
*Escaped guard dogs running around in circles around him.
*Cows/Sheep in a herd
*'Newness' of something - something that 'wasn't there before'
So you can imagine how my rides are on this pony, who sometimes has to have a lead from a youngster at times

xXx
